Technology Association of Oregon

The Technology Association of Oregon (TAO) threw an kickoff event for their Fintech community at the Pacific West Bank in downtown Portland. “TAO Fintech exists to educate, connect, and strengthen the people building the future of financial services, locally and beyond.” This event connected people in the community as well as providing a platform for connecting job seekers with businesses looking to hire.

Dana Lawrence from Pacific West Bank helped host the event. “We heard lightning talks from Alex Kahn of Econia Labs, Ali Maaxa of MaaxaLabs, George Bonaci of Ramp, and Toby Sterrett of Subduction - each bringing smart, thoughtful perspectives on the future of fintech.”

Event Photo Tips:

I shot with an on-camera flash, despite there being natural light. I used the flash in manual and just used it to fill in some of the shadows when I photographing close to someone. Unless you’re able to pose someone and have them facing a window, you’re getting shadows across their face. The flash helped me spread the light across the room and get nice, sharp and bright photographs.
